So I decided to go ahead and change my blog address again.
I never really liked my old address. I like the "knits" part, because I do identify as a knitter and see myself partaking in the craft until the very end (barring some horrible accident or illness *knocks wood*), but I didn't really like the "scholarly" part. Sure, I work in academia and there is the very good chance that I'll be doing this for a living, but I always thought that it sounded a bit too...pretentious. I work in a scholarly field, yes, but to consider myself a scholar...that is something that I'm not entirely comfortable with. The further I get into my doctoral studies, the clearer it becomes that I don't know much of anything. I know a bit about a very narrow field, but comparing that to the amount I don't know? Well, that number is exponential. However, I will always love to learn, so I guess that is something I have in common with your everyday scholar. So there's that.
Anyway, I decided to keep the "knitter" part since I'll be focusing primarily on my knitting in this blog. And I decided to incorporate something psychologically-related, since I am a doctoral student in psychology. Not the clinical, listen-to-your-problems-while-lying-on-the-couch type, but a psychological researcher. I've always been interested in what and why people think/do the things they do, what makes people tick. And I suppose that is something else that I will remain fascinated with, because damned if I know why you do what you do. For all the talk about how rational we all are as a species, we sure are an illogical, unpredictable bunch.
So there you have it; a blog name that accurately identifies with two of the many facets of myself.
Now that I've spent way too much time thinking up blog names (when I should be writing my master's manuscript for publication), I'll revert your attention back to the knitting stuff.
Oh, and if you're here to check out my knitting projects, take a look at the links on the right!
